Spring Carnival 4th July 2009

Everyone was on hand on the word GO....all went very well. On behalf of the PSG Exco, I would like to say a big Thank You to all for the smooth running of the PSG stall...

Our Balloon sculptor (employed by Mdm Rohana & Mr Cheng) was a big hit.

Our Craft Works left a few pieces....creativity of Mdm Naisah & other PSG members that came earlier in the past weeks to make it happen.

Our Jumble Sale....started very slow....until we changed location..it became a big hit and we are selling like hotcakes......

Share - a Bowl of Rice...we managed to sell 7 art pieces.

Fighting Fishes....SOLD OUT......Thank you Mr Muruges...

Celebrity Futsal..... was big hit....1 match planned...turned out to be 3 matches....

Mediacorp Artist...Mr Fauzie Laily..... made the ladies drool with 2 of his melodious songs....even the Muslim canteeen vendor lady Mdm Lina came out to get autographs & a picture or 2 with him...hehehe

Mdm Lena...even just after surgery....your commitment, tenacity, presence...I salute you.

Mr Cheng.....your leadership and charisma....your friendship is ever valuable.

To the School, who allowed PSG to be a part of this great event......a deep Thank you from all of us....may our small contribution goes a long way to make West Spring, a school of distinction.

To all PSG members.....I salute you from the bottom of my heart......WE DID it.....

And now to our next project....Teachers' Day......hehehehe

Spring Carnival Tickets- On Sale Now




Please write to westspringpsg@gmail.com for tickets.

On each ticket, various denominations are made for the purchaser to buy goods/ food items and/or play games. Although the ticket is worth $11, we are selling it at only $10 as an incentive for your support.

This carnival brings together the hearts and minds of young leaders, learners and the community. Organised in the spirit of the Asian Youth Games (AYG) 2009 & in support of Youth Olympic Games 2010.

3 fold objectives of the Spring Carnival

- To cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship and leadership in our youths
- To help the less fortunate by donating part of carnival proceeds to charity
- To support our nation's successful bid in hosting the 2010 YOG

Principal's Dialogue Session cum Scholarship Award Presentation/ PSG Recruitment '09

The new Sec 1 cohort came with their parents for a dialogue session with Mr Seet. The event began with the showing of a video depicting PSG's activities for the past year. As the video ended, Mr Cheng & Mdm Rosita went on stage to call on the parents to join PSG. From a fellow parent to another they shared the importance and significance of being in PSG.




Mr Seet shared with parents on school policies, past examination results, expectations from the current Sec1s and projections for the future, events for the year 2009, etc.

At about 8.20pm, the session was over. Those receiving the scholarships adjourned to the auditorium where the presentation was about to commence. A light refreshment was served to them just outside the auditorium.

PSG members was busy chatting up with curious parents wanting to know more about PSG. It was a good showing of members helping out. Thank you to the following for extending assistance to the occasion. They are:-

Sec One Registration 19th Dec 2008

Many parents & students came early for the registration which kick start promptly at 8.00am. Rows of chairs were arranged to accomodate those waiting in line.

This year 2 PSG members were among the teachers who were registering the new students. Mdm Lena Ng at Booth Sec 1A while Mdm Susan Chong at Booth Sec 1H.




Other PSG members were at hand to help out in the PSG Booth 6, answering queries from curious parents wanting to know more about PSG. Mdm Gina, Mdm Seri, Mdm Yati, Mdm Sara, Mr Cheng & myself were among those who were there.

The registration were completed close to 10am... As we wrapped up the registration exercise, we mingled and had coffee & tea with Mr Seet & VP Mr Khoo at the canteen.

A lot more work ahead for us in 2009. Cheers!
